I don’t know how AMC keeps doing it. The network responsible for Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead can take credit for producing yet another engrossing series, The Killing, which I just finished obsessively viewing on Netflix. At this point, I’m convinced that AMC could churn out a show titled Watching Your Neighbor’s Dog Struggle to Defecate On Your Lawn Because He Ate Too Much Cheese Yesterday and it would be utterly riveting.
The show is a supremely well-acted and well-scripted procedural crime drama about *spoiler alert* a killing. Think Law & Order, except a single case lasts an entire season and language stronger than “ass” gets used. Getting to see the impact of a murder on an entire community, from the family to the investigators to hosts of others you would never realize were tied to the victim, is entertaining and depressing all at once. My one criticism is there are a few too many scenes of people wailing their lungs out over mournful piano tunes. If I wanted that in my life, I’d befriend an alcoholic music teacher.
Season 2 of The Killing begins April 1 on AMC.

I honestly thought you’d love it and then rip it a new asshole for how it ended. Maybe cos you didn’t watch when it was first airing. The tag line throughout the season was, “Who Killed Rosie Larson?” I was pissed it wasn’t answered but I’m giving it one last chance starting April 1st.
