A lot of high school students know exactly what they want out of life. Armed with this knowledge, they pick a college that excels in their major of choice, secure internships in their desired field of employment and, four years later, come out incredibly well prepared for a career they will find both lucrative and personally rewarding.

I did the opposite of all of these things. I had zero idea what I wanted to do with my life, went to a college solely because my friends did and chose a major that I knew I would hate but thought would at least make me a nice paycheck. It was the epitome of that quote from ye olde pussy-slayer himself, Benjamin Franklin: “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”

Ten years later, with time on my hands and a few ducats in my pocket, I figured, “Hey, you like quoting Goodfellas start to finish like an autistic. Why not take a class on screenwriting?” And so, at the age of 34, I am sitting in a community college classroom, learning the art of writing for the silver screen.

The episode isn’t just me talking about how I feel smarter than a bunch of Ritalin-deprived 18-year-olds, however: There’s also co-host Jay’s report from the Renaissance fair he attended over the weekend and a horrible, cautionary tale about why it’s super important to look at a toilet before you sit down on it. It’s a good episode. Sure, I think they all are, because they have my name and my gorgeous, Marvin Monroe-esque voice. But I think you’ll like.
