Almost 20 years since the original, an actual sequel to Dumb and Dumber (that abortion Dumb and Dumberer does not count) has been announced, with both Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels signed on to reprise their original roles and the Farrelly brothers directing. This has me understandably nervous because I consider the original Dumb and Dumber the greatest comedy of my lifetime. It’s like turning to a Christian and saying, “Hey, it’s been a while since we heard about Jesus and his zany adventures…ready for a new New Testament?”

If Carey hadn’t been a total gooch about making a sequel 5 years after the first one, his carreer wouldn’t have tanked like the economy and wouldn’t be trying to revive it by shitting on a film classic. My H-wood prediction….buy the cyanide and kool-aid now.

Yeah, if Carrey and Co. did this earlier, it would work. Now they’re old as fuck and this will be awful. Also, didn’t Carrey have something against doing sequels?
