Of Leslie Jones And Twitter Trolls — Papa’s Basement 503
I’m not really familiar with Leslie Jones. She’s apparently on SNL, and produced this bit of wisdom for the show (which resonates with me as I come to grips with […]
(As a preamble to the episode description, I want to present this link to the Papa’s Basement Patreon. For those unfamiliar with Patreon, it lets you contribute monthly to smaller content producers – like us – that you love. The link also has a funny video we took months working on. Even if you don’t plan to cough up, it’s worth the click.)
I’m a video streaming junkie. I confess it. My brain, in its quest for any drop of dopamine it can get its depleted hands on, has identified high-carb food and Netflix as its means of choice. So, for me to compulsively watch Netflix’s latest offering Stranger Things, to be honest, it didn’t even have to be particularly good. Imagine my surprise when I tuned in and encountered a show so good that, truthfully, I can’t remember the last time I was as nuts for a show as I am this one. The setting. The music. The cast. The Barb. If you haven’t seen the show already, watch it. At eight episodes, with a little commitment to hard work and excellence, you can do it over the span of your Saturday.
The Stranger Things talk is confined to the end of the episode. Before that, I talk my time at Redskins Park running NFL combine drills (there’s one cognitive ability test and six physical ones. I’ll give you a hint as to the one I crushed) and a rousing game of F, Marry, Kill with three faces featured at this week’s Democratic National Convention. If you made it this far, please share the episode post and contribute to the Patreon. In two weeks, when people are talking about Barb more than they are Khaleesi, you’ll be happy you were out in front of a trend for once.
