I enjoyed the original Taken. Not so much because I thought it was a fantastic movie, but I saw it with my mom, who inexplicably adored it. And an older lady cheering for violent on-screen death is always funny. Yesterday, an official trailer for the ingeniously titled sequel, Taken 2, was released, and I learned three things while viewing it:
1. They cast The Most Interesting Man in the World as the villain, which works because white slave trade is indeed interesting.
2. Famke Jansen still looks amazing, regardless of her age. I’d tear her protective undergarments off with my teeth.
3. I could listen to Liam Neeson give orders over the phone on any subject. As an advice nurse – “Listen to me carefully. You will put aloe on the burn.” As a maitre d’ – “Listen to me carefully. You will be here at 8.” As a gay phone sex operator – “Listen to me carefully. You will massage your penis until you ejaculate, then tell my supervisor it was the best orgasm of your life and that you’re in love with me.” It all works.
